To Mr. James Rivington present
Cum tot susinecs, et tanta negotia solus,
Res Italas armis tuteris, moribus ornes,
Legibus emendes, in publica commoda peccem.
Si longo sermone morer tua tempora Caesar. Hon. ad Aug.
Whilst you the charter of our rights maintain,
Storm through each ward, and bawl thro' ev'ry lane,
With strenuous zeal support the good old cause,
Adorn with manners, and improve with laws,
Much would the public suffer from the song,
That should, O mighty Chief, detain thee long.
